OUP Talent Shines

OUP news is like the proverbial London buses, you don’t have any for a while and then two pieces come along together.

This week sees the publication of our annual poetry anthology, Openings. This is our fortieth edition and features stunning work produced over the year by our talented membership. The poems included have been chosen by vote from the hundreds submitted to our workshop magazine during the year.

This year it includes poems by: Denis Ahern; Jane Avery; Pru Bankes Price; K.J. Barrett; Liz Beber; Ian Campbell; Ali Chakir; Cate Cody; Phil Craddock; Barbara Cumbers; Tim Field; M.C. Gardner; Julie Anne Gilligan; Adrian Green; Jenny Hamlett; Alice Harrison; Lem Ibbotson; Sally James; Susan Jarvis Bryant; Nigel Kent; Ian Ledward; Jim Lindop; Rob Lowe; Karen Macfarlane; Ross McGivern; Hilary Mellon; Peter Meredith-Smith; Suzie Millar; Lisa Monastryrova; Vicky Morley; Kewal Paigankar; Madelaine Parsons; Katherine Rawlings; Colin Rennie; Dave Sinclair; Sue Spiers; Julie Stamp; John Starbuck; Polly Stretton; Kate Young.

…and talking of talent…

Our long-standing member and artist, Jan Green, is thrilled to see her artwork feature on the cover of Mervyn Linford’s latest poetry collection, Birdsongs, published by The High Windows Press this month. The talent of our members knows no bounds.

Congratulations to Jan and to all our wonderful anthology poets! Also thanks to Alice Harrison and Sue Spiers for their hard work in putting together yet again this fabulous celebration of our work.
